The Mtshikoti Group (Pty) Ltd, TMG, is a Mining Services Provider based in the Gauteng Province and seeks to employ a suitably qualified and experienced person in the capacity of Miner - Secondary Support

Vacancy: Miner - Secondary Support

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain a safe work environment by complying to Mine standards and procedures, safe work procedures, safety management system and Legal   Requirements.
• Competent direction of crews in the effective installation of cable anchors,   application of wetcrete and casting of concrete, while ensuring that the work   done conforms to the required quality standards.

Location: Gauteng Province

Job Type: Limited Duration Contract

Minimum Qualifications:

• Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines
• National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4)

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years underground mining experience in a Trackless Mechanised Mining environment
• Adequate survey note, support lay-out and plan reading abilities
• Minimum of 2 years experience in underground secondary support activities
• Good Communication skills in English (read and write)
• Sound understanding of working in the contract mining environment
• Underground civil construction experience will be advantageous

Personal Requirements:

• Ability to work in a high pressure environment
• Determination to safely achieve and exceed set targets
• Ability to maintain discipline in the section and provide adequate direction
• Ability to obtain an occupational medical certificate of fitness
• Must have a clear criminal record

Key Requirements & Technical Proficiency

• Strong, hands-on experience with:

• MicroStation

• Leica Infinity

• Cyclone 3DR

• 3D modelling (Civils), including mechanical & civil overlays

• Excavation analysis with fit-for-purpose output reports

• Experienced in surveying & establishing workshops, crushers & conveyor belts, and similar industrial facilities

• Excellent ability to read, interpret, and validate technical drawings

• Proven problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Qualifications

• Survey Diploma or Advanced Survey & Valuation (or equivalent)

Additional Criteria

• South African citizen

• Valid driver’s licence
